



It can be so simple. You hit rocks: music. Two cigarettes tumble on an escalator: a dance. 'Arrangementen' is an ongoing series of short films about the everyday symphony, in which we sometimes are instrument, sometimes are conductor. (2006 - present )
The series consists, amongs others, of the following :
Arrangement for guy and trafficlights
The symphonic qualities of crossing the street.
Arrangement for myselfs
Four Michiels form a visual orchestra.
Arrangement for streat, woman and pole
The causality on the marketsquare forms a musical score..
Arrangement for a stroll along the dyke
A stroll along the dyke becomes a choreography in sound.
Arrangement for mother and son
A dance for generations.
Arrangement for cigarettes and escalator
A ready-made choreography
of Hollywoodian proportion.
Arrangement for man and fence
The world is your instrument.
the parade is marching by me
at the table where i sit
all my many lovely walk-ons
but no chapter's gonna fit
with the leading men we gently
row row our boat down the stream
marrily lugging the whole lot
while it well may be off beam

You may like it or not, but we are the stars of our own concert. De optocht (the parade) is a video-installation for 5 viewscreens. A parade of visual songs of bikes, trees, pretty women, birthdays, attics, people and many other instruments. (mrt 2008)
