Weerthof | music design
Translating someones intentions and visions to music is something I enjoy very much. And through this, lifting the whole to a higher level. Every maker is different and every assignment asks for a different flavour, approach and arsenal of instruments.
Having broad cross-disciplinary experience myself by working with music, theatre, dance and performance-art (on both sides; being assigned, as well as being the initiator) I have a very pro-active mentality within the process if needed.

Testimonials
"Our cooperation was very inspirational. Michiel is a very strong willed person, but with the gift of tuning in on others. He is extremely good at 'getting' a maker's intentions, giving it his own twist and thus the end result has much more depth."
(Lisah Baert, theatre maker - Het Vliegelied)
"Michiel is good at perceiving underlaying motivations and adding his own spices to benefit the whole. I always had confidence in a good result. Standing out were his enthousiasm and his constructive critisism. He clearly stated when he needed feedback or needed some space to do his job. All in all we had a professional collaboration resulting in a harmonious interaction between imagery and music." Influences / heroes François de Roubaix. Eh? Who? Wojchiech Kilar. Woj? Uakti. Ti? Japanese. Hai? Waf? Okki?
(Roy de Haan, animator - Gerontomatic)

I was 6 years old and knew what I wanted to do when I was grown up.
Look and listen to the movie Blindness. The images and soundtrack really become one.
